Chapter 7 is a powerful tool that can get you back on your feet quickly. When a Chapter 7 is filed the law protects you from  all creditor actions with an "automatic stay" which is a provision in the Bankruptcy Code forbidding creditors from taking any negative action of any type against you. Chapter 7 eliminates most debts and most people who file Chapter 7 do not lose any assets.

Chapter 7 will:

STOP BILL COLLECTORS.  When your case is filed you can refer all collection calls to Ronald J. Lundquist. He will stop bill collectors cold in their tracks.  The harassing collection agency phone calls you are receiving at home and at work, and the threatening letters in your mailbox will be put to an end.

STOP GARNISHMENTS. If your paycheck is being garnished now a Chapter 7 filing will stop the garnishment immediately. When the case is filed the garnishing creditor will be contacted at once and will be ordered to discontinue the garnishment. In some cases the creditor must pay you back the money they took. If more than $600.00 has been garnished from your paycheck  by one creditor in the 90 days before your case was filed there is a good chance that a large part of it can be recovered and returned to you.

STOP BANK LEVIES. If your bank account has been levied a Chapter 7 case can release funds to you if they have not been transferred to the creditor. If they have been transferred, and if any single creditor received $600.00 or more in the 90 days before filing, there is a good chance that a large part of the levy can be recovered and returned to you.   

GET A DRIVERS LICENSE REINSTATED. If your drivers license has been taken away because you were in a car accident and had no auto insurance, and there are no other aggravating factors, a Chapter 7 filing will usually get your license back.

A Chapter 7 case generally takes about 3 months from start to finish. There is a short hearing that you must attend. Ronald J. Lundquist will be with you at the hearing.
